What inspired this story was that I wanted to create a platform that represented and reflected my topic of healthy lifestyle changes and perspectives of others and what they think about this topic. Because of this, I decided to do an interview story because this topic, especially going vegan can be pretty conflicting for some and not everyone agrees so I thought it would be interesting to get the perspective of my friend shea who is not vegan and what her viewpoint on this was. In the process of this creation, I wanted to tell the interview just how it was and not make too big of a change since everything that was said in the interview was relevant and valuable to the story. Initially, the two segments of this story were divided and I wanted to merge them through adobe auction to create a clear storyline of what was going on. For my final draft, I plan to add additional sounds and effects to the beginning of the story, in between the pauses, and at the end to give it a more finished story plot. I collected the sounds from my friend shea who has different lifestyle habits then me so my idea was to interview her in hopes that it would give more insight to this topic since she expressed interest in possibly attempting some sort of change from what I told her about my topic and how she thinks it could benefit her personally. Some technical challenges that I came across when trying to edit was how to create one smooth audio story without a transition that made it seem obvious that something had been done to it. To fix that, I plan to add in a smoother transition and then overlay a sound to mask that.
I think that choosing an interview as the story for your topic was a great choice. I think that having another voice is a really good addition to the story because it provides another piece of sound for listeners to grab attention to when listening. I think that maybe adding an introduction to what your topic is and why you are asking the questions would provide the listeners with more background regarding what the subject is and why you are interviewing her. I think that introducing who you were speaking to helped add to that. I think that the interview sounds integrated well, and the responses are confident and clean. I think that when you provide more information about your vegan lifestyle it will help provide the listener with the needed information to fully understand the responses from your friend! Overall the questions and responses were strong and I think that the end result will be great.
Isabelle- I think that your audio story draft sounds great so far and your voice is very easy to listen to recorded. I think that for your topic the content and format of an interview made sense for your topic and content of the rest of your blog. I think that your audio story draft is already strong in the sense of content during your interview. However, it may be helpful to add an introduction portion to your interview so that your listeners know who the person you are interviewing is and their connection to yourself and your blog. Also, for a person who has not seen or looked at your blog before it may be helpful to introduce the topic as well- and since this is about veganism- give details about whether or not you’re vegan. One other area for improvement that I think you could make is adding some background music or music in the beginning as an introduction. Other than that, I think that your audio recording sounds great acoustically!
Isabelle,
I really admire your topic for this class. I think a healthy lifestyle is key at any moment in life. To be able to remove toxicity is the start to any great thing in life especially in a college enviorment where we are surrounded with things to better ourselves so why bog ourselves down with negativity. To start with your topic of the class itself, I thought your topic was very simple and easy to listen to and that is a hard thing to do it seems to some in this class, including my own. To make a topic easy to listen to is a hard thing to do. If I were to suggest to do anything differently I would suggest to not use “Um” and “like” I like to use those a lot as well but limiting them would help in the long run.
Isabelle, I think your idea and where you are going so far is off to a great start! I love the fact that your blog is on healthy living and an overall healthy lifestyle. I think your intro needs to be explained a little bit more. Maybe you could act like this is the first time the listener is hearing anything about your blog and has no idea what you are talking about. Another thing I know is hard to fix now is the background noise, I think there is a way to help get rid of that but I’m not totally sure how you can do that. Since you don’t have any music or other noises it does get a little bit distracting towards the end of the interview. Neither of these things are super big or that problematic but I think it would enhance your project. Your interviewee also had really good responses to the questions and sounded like she was taking it seriously. Overall, minor problems, very good!
